The Lambda Iota Chapter strives to maintain sisterhood, scholarship, and service throughout all of its endeavors.

"For the 2017-2018 school year, it is the vision of Lambda Iota to pursue as much service that shall encourage youth empowerment as possible. We plan to incorporate a diverse agenda that will provide impactful relationships and change towards our communities."

The chapter received its official charter on January 20, 1990 and went inactive in the Spring of 1997 after the last member graduated.  In spring of 2007 the chapter was reactivated by five outstanding women: Ashley Clarke, Victoria Gaines, Angel Brockenbrough, Jerrell Green and Ashley Perry.  Ever since its reactivation, the Lambda Iota Chapter has been diligently working towards its goal to 'bridge the gap' between James Madison University and the Harrisonburg community.

The chapter's consistent interaction with various organizations and service projects allows it to build impactful relationships and expand it's opportunities. Although their foundation was built on youth education, Lambda Iota is determined to assist in their community through an abundance of means.
