    Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was founded on November 12th, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana by 7 educators. A charter was granted to the Alpha Chapter at Butler University on December 30th, 1929 allowing our founders to become an incorporated national collegiate sorority.

 The organization continues to meet the challenges of the day and grow through Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service as a leading national service organization. The sorority gives leadership, service, and resources through active participation in the programs of affiliate and other organizations. We are committed on working to improve the quality of our lives and the society we serve.
